Wonder and Integration, beautiful terms, thoughts and endeavors.
In a pose we need to follow the specific alignment and action instructions to retain the integrity of the pose. It is in those seconds or minutes of being in the pose when our minds stop chatttering about how long we have been there that is the beauty of yoga. That is our yoga. The struggle to keep the form of the pose and let our vibrant spirit shine out while living in a quirky human body is a mat lesson as well as a life lesson. Stick to it, persevere, and try to breathe and smile through it all.Once we loose our integrity, we loose it all, and the pose melts. What we do on the mat for just a minute sustains us for hours of life off the mat and what we do for an hour is what keeps us going for the 23 other hours. That is why our daily practice is meaningful.
When we approach our poses with a sense of playful wonder, we allow ourselves the freedom to explore, to be free, and to remember who we really are. For practiced yogis, coming to your yoga mat is like coming home. All we have to do is roll out the mat and we have a sese of anticipation of the god that is about to happen. It's euphoric and the reason we keep coming back. I look forward to you coming back to class Wednesday at soon to be? 5:30 pm.
Namaste
